effigy actorum
Effigy Actorum is a theatre and visual arts collective created to introduce classic stories, foreign to an international audience, as a means of bridging cultural divides. Limitless possibilities are the most important aspect of their work, embracing a relative position of what works and that which is fundamentally most important: art and audience. Performances have taken place in the US, Europe and the UK with material in development for the Middle East.
The company brings together a group of performers, artists and projects that have been worked on the past ten years in New York and the UK. Effigy Actorum was formed by Peter Case and others at the La Mama Experimental Theatre Club in New York and with the help of Wilton's Music Hall in London where Love Suicides was developed and first performed. Past productions include Death and the Ploughman, Shekinah, The Legend of Agilla and Trasimeno, and the Forgiven Wing.
